A warm welcome to my website.
I am a Scottish artist descended from a fishing and sea faring community in East Neuk Fife. I have created many artistic works on a range of themes from industry, fishing, whaling but also landscape and figurative projects. Much of my work has originated from my connection with my sea faring ancestors from the East Coast of Scotland. Portraits of three fishermen (my grandfathers) titled 'Ancestral Tryptych' can often be viewed at the Zulu Gallery at The Scottish Fisheries Museum and online at Art UK. Other major works for me include my research and experience living on St Kilda, and the absolute imaginative joy of exploring a challenging journey to America in a curragh a leather boat. Hope you enjoy sharing with me a sense of my journey understanding perspective, colour and light.
Best wishes for the festive season, Alan
